Frequently Asked Questions

Accounts & Admin

Why should I create a TTMdoc account?

A doctor’s appointment is one of the most important encounters when it comes to managing our health. But for various reasons, doctor-patient communications can be problematic: doctors and patients are often not on the same page!
While many health websites and resources address how to speak to doctors, TTMdoc tackles this thorny issue head on.
Through bite-sized videos, downloads and useful information, we cover the basics, such as how to prepare for your appointments, right through to harder conversations – like asking for a second opinion. We can’t wait to empower you to have better conversations with healthcare professionals!

Who can I contact if I have any questions or issues with my account, or if I want to close it?

Company

How does TTMdoc make money?

TTMdoc works with pharmaceutical companies that are active in the area of autoimmune diseases. These companies might choose to sponsor the development of specific tools and educational materials, and they may also advertise on the TTMdoc website.
Any material that’s sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, and any pharma advertisements, will be clearly labelled as such.
TTMdoc has full editorial control over all TTMdoc tools and resources that we may publish on our websites or a TTMdoc mobile app (available later in 2022).

Content

Why is TTMdoc focused on autoimmune conditions?

Improving human health is a big subject so we’re starting where we can make the biggest difference: in autoimmune conditions.

There are more than 24 million people in the United States affected by autoimmune diseases. Around 80% of those diagnosed with autoimmune diseases are women.

And research shows that women are more likely than men to have their symptoms dismissed by health providers.

We’re on a mission to empower autoimmune disease patients to speak up and take part in treatment decisions.

I don’t see anything specific to my autoimmune condition. Will some be available in the future?

Autoimmune diseases are a broad group made up of more than 100 chronic conditions.

So, you might not see us mentioning your condition specifically, but we have created tools and resources that should be relevant to any autoimmune disease.

If you have specific feedback or content suggestions about your condition, please email hello@ttmdoc.mblhealth.co.uk.

Any medical information you find on TTMdoc comes from reputable third-party sources such as the National Institutes of Health and other federal government agencies; the Autoimmune Association; and peer-reviewed medical journals.

We always include links to these sources where appropriate, including in our videos and on the TTMdoc website.

Please remember that TTMdoc tools and resources are designed to empower you to speak to doctors. They’re not a substitute for medical advice and you should always speak to a clinician before starting or stopping a treatment.

Data & Privacy

What does TTMdoc do with the information I’ve shared about myself?

When you create a TTMdoc account, we’ll ask for your name and contact email so we can communicate with you, and for administrative purposes.

We’ll also ask a few questions about whether you have a diagnosis, and the condition(s) you’re interested in. This is so we can tailor the TTMdoc experience to your situation.

TTMdoc takes your privacy and the security of your information seriously.

For more information on how we protect your data, please read our Privacy Policy.

Using TTMdoc

Why do I need to set up an account to access TTMdoc videos?

When you create an account, we’ll ask you a few questions to help us tailor the TTMdoc experience to your situation, for example by recommending videos for you to watch.

Having an account also means you can see what you’ve already watched and easily find content again. So, if you’re preparing for a medical appointment and need a last-minute refresher, you’ll know exactly where to go. Or if you’ve just visited your doctor and you need some tools to help you with the next steps, these resources will be clearly signposted for you.

Can I access TTMdoc using mobile apps?

We’re working on it! Look out for our mobile apps later in 2022. If you think you might be interested in user testing our mobile apps, email us at hello@ttmdoc.mblhealth.co.uk.

Can I use TTMdoc during medical appointments?

Yes, please do. And if you have any suggestions to make our tools and resources more helpful during appointments, email us at hello@ttmdoc.mblhealth.co.uk.
